As a Joining / Manufacturing Engineer, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing process, ensuring our joining methods are robust and efficient. Your proactive approach will be key as you:
- Collaborate and Influence: Actively contribute your insights and provide vital feedback to our lead Joining Engineer, BIW Process Engineering, and Product Development teams. Your input will directly shape how our joining methods become manufacturable under real plant conditions.
- Analyse and Optimise: Dig into the results of feasibility trials, providing incisive technical inputs to ensure data validity. Your analytical skills will be crucial in finding areas for improvement and driving optimal solutions.

- Drive Digital Transformation: Use your data and digital Systems Proficiency to find opportunities for automation, create insightful dashboards for real-time monitoring, and perform sophisticated data analysis using formulas, macros, PowerApps and even AI tools. Your ability to harness technology will streamline our processes and enhance decision-making.
- Coordinate Manufacturing Excellence: Partner with the project team and coordinate seamlessly with Line Builders/vendors to advance each phase. You'll ensure strict adherence to joining technologies' buy-off procedures and standards, contributing to seamless production.
- Understand the Big Picture: Develop a solid understanding of how various interfaces interact with joining technologies in a manufacturing environment, and ensure parameters are perfectly aligned for applications such as adhesive, FDS, RSW, and more.

This position is a key part of the Studio Engineering team, responsible for preserving design integrity while ensuring it’s feasibility. As a member of the Studio Engineering Team, it typically holds primary responsibility for delivering feasible vehicles. The role involves leading a vehicle zone through Feasibility Checkpoints from Concept to Production Surfacing handover while ensuring the integrity of the design.

Essential Skills:
- A broad understanding of either Interior, Exterior, or both, system types such as Bumper, Exterior trim engineering, Exterior Lighting systems, Occupant & Pedestrian Safety, Closures, Manufacturing & Assembly, Instrument Panel, Console + Door Trim engineering.
- Ability to think creatively to solve 3Dimensional (3D) technical/feasibility issues.
- Demonstrates the ability to think creatively to solve feasibility issues.
- Proficient CAD drafting capability.

The Battery Test Automation Engineer role will focus on the delivery of automation tools in support of the development and design verification (DV) of HV Traction Battery Systems. You will operate across our internal facilities and external test houses managing automation tools, leading the development of these tools and guiding our colleagues and partners on their use, ensuring adherence to client safety policies and procedures and planning for future test capabilities, requirements and applications.
You’ll have responsibility for providing the first line trouble shooting and diagnostic support for all battery test automation tools and issue management across our battery test field.
You'll be working with a wide range of engineering customers, skilled test facility operators, suppliers, external agencies and organisations.
You'll have responsibility for providing tools and analysing issues across the field to ensure minimal downtime and maximum test efficiency.

Skills:
- Highly proficient in programming languages including CAPL, Python and C++

Durability and Robustness PAT Leader - £27.21/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire - 9 Months (potential for yearly renewal)

Duties:
This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of customer attributes for automotive vehicles.

The D&R PAT leader role is to ensure all customer expectations for vehicle Durability and Robustness of client vehicles are met or exceeded. This is achieved through attribute target setting and verification sign-off using both virtual and physical test methods.

Key Performance Indicators
- Ensure all targets cascaded and accepted within all relevant Engineering teams
- Develop integration and Design Verification (DV) plans to ensure accumulating evidence through vehicle programme to ensure delivery of vehicle sign-off on-time to requirements
- Ensure delivery and reporting of results of all test activities to agreed DV plan
- Raise clear and concise technical issue reports within 48 hours of identifications
- Complete all sign-off documentation for agreed gateways

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Support delivery of all attribute requirement targets by gateway
- Support the Programme Attribute Team to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved
- Detailed strategy and delivery planning for all attribute covering CAR, RLD, rig and driven DV activities with status reporting including road load data, analysis and load cascade
- Working with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets
- Work with component engineers and suppliers are required to drive implementation and resolution of all engineering solutions
- Deliver technical recommendations and reports
- Support and maintain the Automated Issues Management System (AIMS) and track these to successful resolution
- Work on tasks to ensure all lessons learnt from the current vehicle are captured and fed back to the Programme Attribute Team and progressed as necessary
- Undertake any other work as directed by their Line Manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Skills:
Essential:
- Broad knowledge and demonstrable experience of vehicle technologies within the automotive sector
- Understanding of Durability & Strength principles with a knowledge of automotive data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of problem-solving principles
- Understanding of system engineering principles and delivery

Desirable
- Project management of complex engineering test activities
- Microsoft package elements (e.g. PowerPoint and Excel)
