Position Description:
The Refinement team define the customer acceptance standards for brakes refinement and deliver the development and sign off of program to confirm that these customer quality targets have been delivered. There is a strong focus on ensuring that the standards satisfy customers in conjunction with developing efficient methods for delivery of programmes including the use of virtual tools and translation of customer requirements into objective measurements.
This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of the brake refinement customer attributes for the client's vehicles.
Skills Required:
- Relevant engineering degree ideally 1st Class MEng
- Able to regularly support testing in the UK and at various European locations for two to three week test blocks generally in Spain, Sweden and Finland
- Full UK Cat B Driving Licence
- Prior automotive brakes experience
Skills Preferred:

- Support delivery of all Attribute Requirement targets by Gateway and ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved.
- Support test and development activities as required or specified in the Design Verification Plan DVP, Including, physical virtual testing, measurement and visual assessments as required.
- Work with lead engineer as required to drive implementation and resolution of all engineering solutions
- Deliver technical recommendations and reports
- Support competitor and comparator Attribute benchmarking and futuring.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Experience Required:
- Knowledge of automotive brake system design
- Previous experience of problem solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA in Manufacturing
- Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Full UK Cat B Driving Licence
Experience Preferred:
- Ability to identify the specifications that influence Brake attributes including performance and refinement.
- Experience in the field of NVH analysis
- Knowledge of industry standard NVH measurement systems LMS Test.lab, HEAD Artemis, Prosig, etc.
- Microsoft package elements Project, Power Point and Excel
- Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering knowledge and cross functional experience
- Some experience of explicit and/or implicit CAE software and associated pre and post processing packages

Position Description:
The Model Delivery team within Digital Engineering is responsible for providing SIMPACK and CarMaker Master Models to the business to support virtual engineering of all vehicle programmes. This includes the collation of data to parameterise full vehicle models for performance assessment, design development and calibration providing the business with a single source of consistent models. The successful candidate will be responsible for following a semi automated process to enter collated consistent data from key supporting departments into model templates, to deliver Quality Assured models at key vehicle programme milestones. They will run QA processes and debug and fix any quality issues. They will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of the build and QA processes to support the ever growing number of vehicle programmes and variants for which models are required. You will work closely with a team of software development engineering to ensure that robust, quality assured tools are delivered to the engineering community are delivered in a responsive manner.

Position Description:
This role exists to investigate user behaviour with early stage concept interface design to validate that they are ready to move to the production phase for future automotive products.
This involves:
- understanding test protocols and methods for the automotive environment, including naturalistic and virtual test environments.
- Planning testing campaigns to validate performance against known targets including maintaining robust testing equipment and test protocols that can be reliably repeated. - Management of data collection and analysis methods (including statistical) to allow for the generation of reports about the refinement of interface systems.
- Be familiar with the operational vehicle based user interfaces that take into account key principles taken from Psychology, Human Factors and cognitive science.
- Working within an automotive field requires consideration of the impact of in-vehicle systems on the driving task and hence designing systems that support a driver to carry out this task is the primary aim.
This role will work as part of a team including both interaction designers and User interface researchers who will work as a team to develop the future interface systems from the ground up and validated all the way through to real world environments.
