Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer

Warwickshire - Up to £34/hr Ltd Co. - Type: Contract - Duration: 10 Months

Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:

Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer - £34/hr (Inside IR35) - Gaydon (hybrid potential) - 10 Months (potential for yearly renewal)

This role is part of the Off-Cycle Projects arm in the VAVE team. As a Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer, you'll be responsible for generating CAD schemes to support the generation of the upper body and/or under body package layout in the Concept phase (pre-CS to KO) across all new vehicle products, in order to meet the Engineering, Manufacturing and Design requirements. As a Vehicle Concepts Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for whole vehicle package layout and your key interactions will be mainly but not exclusively with VAVE (Forward Model Architectures, Pre-KO VEM, TGLs, ZI Technical Specialists and SMEs, Human Factors, VE Attribute teams including Weight, TASE, Vehicle Efficiency), Body and Chassis Concepts, Studio Feas, Design, Body Structural Integration & Advanced Powertrain.

Skills Required:
Essential:
- Competency in laying out Upper body hard points: Occupant Positioning across all seats, IP & Console, steering column, base of screen, pedals, ingress / egress, trunk dimensioning and useability.
- And/or Competency in laying out Underbody hard points: Groundlines, Attitude planes, running clearance, approach/departure, front & rear end length for Vehicle Safety / SI Requirements, key Axle points, Tyre Envelopes and EDU/ICE Dynamic motion wraps.
- Understands the interdependencies between Upper body & Underbody requirements (including Legals).
- Fully competent in CAD creation and visualisation preferably Catia V6.
- Self-starter able to sustain a high, multitask workload. Combine Engineering with business skills.
- Ability to work within a team or alone with exceptional organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Must have good presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels within the company (production line to director level).

Additional information:
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35.
